The Mystic Surrounding Vampire Romance Novels

Vampire books have for over a century provided people of all ages a fascinating look into the life of the undead. The fascination with vampires has spilled over from novels into movies, comic books and other related interest. The first vampire movies originated from vampire books and novels. The novels and movies pushed the vampire mystic even further. There was another series that grabbed readers around the world. These novels were based on the idea that being a vampire was more than just hunting humans for blood. A vampire had dreams, longings and a life of outer damnation. On top of that, they seemed to be on a ever lasting quest to fulfilling their need to belong to something in life, to be whole, to be complete. These books were written by the famous “Anne Rice”. Her books and series still captivate millions. Although these books are not for the young, they are a fine contribution to what vampire romance novels have become.

Trying to understand the phenomenon that surrounds movies and novels like Twilight” is hard to do.  I really did not know anything about the books until after the movie came out. The movie was good, but nothing compares to reading the books. They add so much more details. Just like any movie, it is almost impossible to capture the emotions, feelings and details found in a book.

Vampires will forever be a part of our folklore. From the men vampires to the women vampires, we will be fascinated by what we don’t understand or want to become. It is that gray area between reality and fantasy that keeps us searching for more…
